Funeral Grants

A) Introduction :
- This financial subsidy scheme will be provided to the legal heir in case of demise of the contributor during their tenure of service. It was started from the year 2048.
- Under this provision, Rs. 40,000 will be provided as a subsidy to the beneficiaries of the departed contributor.
B) Procedure:
- The grant can be obtained through the Pension Management and Social Security Department located in Thamel, as well as any branch offices and service centers of the EPF.
C) Eligibility:
- Contributors enrolled in the EPF and who have made contributions are eligible.
D) Documents required:
- Form certified by the contributor’s office (Acc. to Schedule 2)
- Official death notification (मृत्यु खाली पत्र) from the contributor’s office
- A letter written by the contributor’s office mentioning that he/she is a permanent employee
- Copy of the contributor’s PF Card & Citizenship Card
- Death certificate of the contributor
- Certification of relationship between the contributor and claimant
- Identity proof of the claimant, such as citizenship documentation or passport
